Spring roll chicken
Spring roll chicken is not a traditional or well-known dish. However, it seems like you might be interested in a chicken spring roll recipe. Chicken spring rolls are a popular appetizer or snack in many Asian cuisines, typically made by wrapping seasoned chicken and vegetables in thin spring roll wrappers and frying them until crispy. Here's a simple recipe to make chicken spring rolls:
Ingredients:
For the filling:
- 1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup bean sprouts
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Spring roll wrappers (available at most Asian grocery stores)
For frying:
- Vegetable oil
- For dipping sauce:
- Sweet chili sauce or soy sauce
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
In a large skillet or wok, heat a bit of oil over medium-high heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add shredded cabbage, carrots, and bean sprouts. Stir-fry for a few minutes until they begin to soften.
Add the cooked chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Cook for another few minutes until the filling is well combined and heated through. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Assemble the Spring Rolls:
Take one spring roll wrapper at a time and place it on a clean surface in a diamond shape, with one corner pointing towards you.
Spoon a small amount of the chicken and vegetable filling onto the wrapper, near the corner closest to you.
Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll it up tightly. Use a bit of water to seal the edges of the wrapper.
Repeat this process for all the spring rolls.
Fry the Spring Rolls:
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or wok to about 350°F (175°C).
Carefully add the spring rolls, a few at a time, into the hot oil.
Fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy, which should take about 3-4 minutes per batch.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried spring rolls and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Serve:
Serve the chicken spring rolls hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.
Enjoy your homemade chicken spring rolls as a delicious appetizer or snack!
