Pancakes recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: vanilla extract or other flavorings
Instructions:
Prepare the Dry Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, milk, egg, melted butter, and any optional flavorings like vanilla extract.
Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently stir until just combined. It's okay if there are a few lumps; overmixing can lead to tough pancakes.
Preheat the Pan:
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray.
Cooking the Pancakes:
Once the pan is hot, ladle or pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the pan for each pancake. Cook until you see bubbles forming on the surface, and the edges look slightly set.
Flip and Cook:
Carefully flip the pancake using a spatula and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown.
Keep Warm:
As you cook each batch, you can place the cooked pancakes on a baking sheet in a warm oven (around 200°F or 95°C) to keep them warm while you finish cooking the rest.
Serve:
Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, chocolate chips, or nuts.
Enjoy your homemade pancakes!
Feel free to customize the recipe by adding ingredients like blueberries, chocolate chips, or mashed bananas to the batter for extra flavor.
